EU: Find your way around

What documents are to be found, and how to do it, is summarized in at portal about official EU-documents.

 

Please note that the Institutions have different registers with very different set ups.

 

The Commission provides a searchable register of documents. Watch out for the document types. The Commission also provides Rapid, a register of press releases, info notes and speeches.
 

The Council provides a searchable register of documents. Some of the ministerial meetings are streamed and available via the web, however transparency may vary, as it depends on the presidencies.

 

The Parliament provides a searchable register of documents, aswell as a list of documents, including in- and outgoing mail. The Parliament also provides the legislative observatory OEIL, which provides a very helpful overview over the legislative procedure. It also provides separate lists of parliamentary questions.

 

European legislation is published in the searchable base Eur-Lex.

 

The European Court of Justice has it's own rules. It publishes press releases, opinions and decisions (case law).

The European historical archives have their own rules.
