Brigitte Alfter was born in Germany but now lives in Denmark. She spoke about her work as the director of Journalismfund.eu, which is a private fund which supports investigative cross-border journalism in Europe..
She is a co-founder of the www.farmsubsidy.org network, where journalists, academics and activists since 2004 have united to unveil the recipients of the 50+ billion Euro farm subsidies by using freedom of information legislation. She also is a co-founder and editor of Wobbing.eu, a network and website for journalists who use FOI legislation as a journalistic tool.
Brigitte came to NPOX-XMLabs to explain why journalists should look for stories beyond their national borders and why building European networks of investigative journalists makes so much sense.
